☎️ How to get on our new show
📹 ICYMI: Friday’s video

I’m keeping it short this weekend, folks. So I’m writing this intro like an Axios newsletter.
Why it’s short.
I’m tired.
It’s Labor Day weekend.
That means Monday is off.
The A/C broke in our house.
The KC heatwave is entering its 10th day in a row of 98°+ temperatures.
We’re working on our new show!
What’s the show called?
It’s called “What’s Your Source?”
Where can I find it?
It premieres on YouTube on September 18th.
September 17th if you’re a paid subscriber of the newsletter and get everything a day early.
Are you done with this Axios newsletter bit?
Not yet.
Okay, now I’m done.
Make sure to catch a preview of our show below, as well as details on how YOU can be a part of it by calling in. Finally, a massive congrats to Carley Moseley and Felipe Torres Medina who each won an Emmy for their work on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

We’re so excited that the AWARD-WINNING Carley and Felipe will be writing “What’s Your Source?” alongside Chris Vazquez, former Washington Post TikTok intern turned producer turned LNI Thursday newsletter writer. He does it all!
PREVIEW: ‘WHAT’S YOUR SOURCE?’
This show is covering topics in the news every week, so we can’t shoot a lot of it ahead. But we did make a pilot as a test-run (which may air later). Here’s a sneak peek at the intro:
A MESSAGE FROM OUR SPONSOR

Dave here again (remember me?) after the beehiiv graphic to remind you (in case you’ve already forgotten) to use code DAVE30 and get 30% off your first three months of beehiiv.
WHO YOU GONNA CALL?
Me! At Local News International. We have an official line now, naturally with a Kansas City area code.

ICYMI
I had a lot of fun in Friday’s video, really digging out some old, old costumes from the closet, including what remained of a Thor costume I used in a 2017 episode of “Short Takes.”
No, I don’t know if the George Washington accent is accurate but I tried. I said, “What would it sound like if you had a mouth full of ivory from hippos and walruses, all bound together by gold and wire?” And went from there…
Do I laugh or cry? Lacry? Claugh?
