Longtime fans of the American experiment rejoiced on Saturday following around 2,600 peaceful No Kings protests across the country. The early ratings show a massive uptick in participation in democracy after several weeks of low-viewing numbers and general apathy towards fascism.
Despite shifts to the right in news coverage at billionaire-owned outlets, it looks like America - and its Constitution - will, in fact, be renewed for another season, despite the attempted authoritarian takeover by a former reality TV host and a man who once spray-painted hair on his own head.
In Chicago, tens of thousands of people protested.

Two protestors in Frisco, Texas said they took part in a great event with “lots of honks and waves from drivers passing by.”

As we race towards the season finale of 2025, viewers are beginning to pay more attention to the government shutdown storyline.
We’ll dive even deeper into what must be done to reopen the government shutdown on this Tuesday’s video. For now, here’s a few more storylines that fans are discussing.
Will the Epstein storyline be resolved this season?
Many outlets are reporting that Speaker Mike Johnson need only confirm Rep-elect Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ) . Once confirmed, she would be the deciding vote in releasing the Epstein files. Notably, some Republican members of the House have also voted to release the files.
Showrunners have really teased this confirmation out for weeks now. While Johnson insists he cannot while the government is shutdown, even though she won the election before the shutdown began. This storyline has been panned for being unrealistic. Yet, Johnson continues to find excuses week after week.
A divisive fan-favorite made a dramatic return after being written off the show.
In last week’s finale, viewers were shocked when George Santos was suddenly released from prison, after having his sentence commuted by President Trump. In a statement on Truth Social, Trump said that while Santos was “somewhat of a rogue” he “ALWAYS VOTES REPUBLICAN.”

Santos is the Gendry of the America TV show.
Much like Gendry being sent off in a boat on Game of Thrones, fans has speculated about Santos’s return. Unlike Gendry, this happened with the same season, just three months after Santos’s 7-year sentence began.
What will happen to the planned Nazi-America spin-off/reboot?
The fascism spin-off, sometimes referred to as a reboot of the 1940s Nazi series, has been temporarily postponed. Eagle-eyed viewers noticed the potential spin-off was teased last week in two key moments.

The “optical illusion” flag.
In one scene, a Zoom call from an Ohio Congressman’s office showed an American flag with a swastika prominently displayed in the background. Some Republican producers defended the flag, calling it an “optical illusion,” implying it was displayed by accident.
In a separate montage, viewers were treated to the racist group chat of Young Republican leaders, who claimed to “love Hitler’ and openly spoke favorably about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. Still, several Republican officials attempted to defend the group chat, saying “that’s what kids do,” in reference to the full-grown adults involved.
Overall, Americans had a negative reaction to this potential spinoff. Given the negative reception, it’s possible Nazi America may never be made.
Also in TV news
Grey’s Anatomy reached its 450th episode this week.

That’s all for now. Thanks to Chris, Lauren and Micah for taking the reigns while I battled the ridiculous cold my (wonderful) daughter brought home from daycare.
